(Baonghean.vn) - Speaking at a press briefing, the Head of the Propaganda Department of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee urged genuine journalists to uphold their responsibility in detecting and condemning individuals who impersonate journalists or journalists who lack ethical qualifications, contributing to creating public opinion that purifies the ranks.

Attending the press conference were members of the Provincial Party Committee: Pham Thi Hong Toan - Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper; Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Director of the Provincial Radio and Television Station; representatives of the leadership of several provincial departments and agencies; and representatives of press agencies.
At the conference, on behalf of the conference chairman, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications Nguyen Ba Hao reported on the operational situation.pressNovember 2020 with many key topics.
The press agencies have focused on disseminating and comprehensively reflecting all aspects of current political, economic, social, defense and security affairs, as well as Party building and the political system.

Besides the positive aspects, some media outlets and articles still exhibit inappropriate headlines, causing misinformation; publishing confusing information, etc. Responses to the press from relevant agencies and localities are also slow…
At the conference, leaders and journalists from several media outlets also raised a number of issues and proposed that media management agencies continue to tighten control over advertising activities in the press that are causing difficulties for businesses and establishments; and strengthen inspection and supervision of the "published in the morning, removed in the afternoon" situation in some online publications.

A representative from a media agency also reflected on the situation where some media outlets are disseminating information and reporting in a way that misrepresents their stated purpose, and suggested that establishments and businesses should be responsible for informing the Department of Information and Communications about the identity and intentions of individuals engaging in journalistic activities that violate the law…
Combating individuals who exploit the press.
Speaking at the briefing conference, Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department - highly appreciated the active work of press agencies and journalists in November 2020; and also outlined some key directions for propaganda work in December 2020.
Specifically, media outlets should focus on publicizing the 13th National Party Congress; the 91st anniversary of the Party's founding and activities celebrating the Party and the Lunar New Year; and activities to care for the poor during Tet (Lunar New Year).
The press also needs to focus on promoting and enthusiastically reflecting the emulation movement to implement the resolutions of the Party congresses at all levels and the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress at all levels, sectors, agencies, units, and among cadres, Party members, and the general public.

Media outlets should allocate adequate time to promoting food safety and hygiene; combating counterfeit, fake, and substandard goods; traffic safety, especially the awareness of traffic laws among officials, civil servants, and citizens; educating the public about regulations regarding firecrackers; and preventing and controlling the Covid-19 pandemic…
In connection with that, media outlets need to publish more news and articles on the theme of studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh; and on exemplary models."Skilled mass mobilization", especially in the context of building new rural areas…
Regarding the suggestions and proposals from media agencies, the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department also expressed his hope that genuine journalists would fulfill their responsibility in detecting and condemning individuals who impersonate journalists or journalists who lack ethical qualifications, causing harassment in localities and businesses, affecting the reputation of the journalistic profession in general, and contributing to shaping public opinion and purifying the journalistic profession.
