Nghe An Farmers' Association joins the fight against unsafe food.

(Baonghean.vn) – Faced with increasingly complex issues of food hygiene and safety, the Executive Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association has issued Resolution No. 01/NQ-HNDT on disseminating information and mobilizing farmers to organize the production, business, and consumption of safe food.

Resolution No. 01/NQ-HNDT of the Provincial Farmers' Association Executive Committee was issued on May 9, 2016; and Vinh Tan Ward, Vinh City was selected as the pilot unit for implementation.

Resolution No. 01 clearly outlines the shortcomings in ensuring food safety; affirming that many households and production, processing, and business establishments prioritize profit and therefore pay little attention to consumer rights; they have arbitrarily used fertilizers, pesticides, antibiotics, stimulants, preservatives, etc., in livestock farming, crop cultivation, and aquaculture, significantly affecting people's health, future generations, and socio-economic development.

The objectives of Resolution 01 are to promote the dissemination of information and encourage members and farmers to produce safe food; to form and develop production areas oriented towards specialized cultivation and commodity production suitable to the climate, weather, and soil conditions of each locality; to quickly apply advancements in science and technology; to promote production linkages, connecting production with business and product consumption, in order to improve productivity and quality; and to create safe products with reliable sources for the market…

Representatives of the farmers' associations in Vinh Tan Ward signed a commitment to implement the "3 no's, 3 yes's" principles.

To ensure the effectiveness of Resolution 01, the Executive Committee of the Farmers' Association has proposed many implementation solutions, including the participation of the entire association system in ensuring food safety with the slogan: "For the health of the community, for the future of the race. Nghe An farmers produce, trade and consume safe food."

Simultaneously, farmers were encouraged to detect and combat violations; commitments were signed to implement the "3 No's, 3 Yes's" with the following content: "No use of banned substances in livestock farming and crop cultivation; No use of banned substances in food preservation and processing; No trading or consuming unsafe food. Consciously comply with food safety laws; understand safe farming, livestock breeding, and food processing techniques; and be responsible for detecting and preventing unsafe food."

On the morning of June 22, 2016, more than 100 members of the Farmers' Association of Vinh Tan Ward, Vinh City, were briefed by the Provincial Farmers' Association on the content of Resolution No. 01.
