National Scientific Conference: 'President Ho Chi Minh - A sublime symbol of the will and aspiration for national independence, freedom, and happiness for the people'

On the afternoon of May 18th, in Vinh City, the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, and the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee jointly organized a national-level scientific conference: “President Ho Chi Minh – A beautiful symbol of the will and aspirations for national independence, freedom, and happiness for the people.”

Attending and chairing the workshop were: Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - Member of the Political Bureau, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; General Luong Tam Quang - Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Party Committee of Public Security, Minister of Public Security; Dr. Pham Tat Thang - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Nguyen Thanh Nghi - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee; Professor Dr. Le Van Loi - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.

Attending the workshop were representatives from the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; representatives from the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; representatives from the Ministry of Public Security; representatives from various central departments, ministries, and agencies; representatives from the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, and several other localities, along with delegates and scientists from the central and local levels.

The leaders of Nghe An province included Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; along with members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, members of the Provincial Party Committee, leaders of departments, agencies, the Provincial Fatherland Front, political and social organizations and localities.

Continuing to deepen the value, stature, and enduring vitality of the Ho Chi Minh Heritage in the new context.

The seminar is a practical activity aimed at reviewing the noble life and revolutionary career, expressing gratitude and honoring the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

At the same time, it contributes to further clarifying and affirming the stature, value, and enduring vitality of Ho Chi Minh's legacy for Vietnam and the world, suggesting theoretical and practical issues to continue applying and creatively developing his thought in the new era of the nation, especially regarding the will and aspirations for national independence, freedom, and happiness for the people.

In his opening remarks and introductory speech at the seminar, Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - Member of the Politburo, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council - emphasized: Commemorating the 135th anniversary of the birth of the great President Ho Chi Minh, and together with the whole country remembering and expressing gratitude for his immense contributions, today's seminar is a significant event, an opportunity to continue to honor and deeply internalize Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style – an invaluable legacy of the Vietnamese nation and revolution in the cause of building, developing the country, and defending the Fatherland.

With that spirit, Professor Nguyen Xuan Thang suggested that delegates and scientists focus their discussions on deepening the following points: Continuing to creatively apply and develop Ho Chi Minh's ideology, working together in unity, seizing every opportunity and advantage, overcoming all difficulties and challenges, and resolutely achieving the goal of Vietnam becoming a developing country with modern industry and high middle income by 2030; and a developed country with high income by 2045, following the socialist orientation; realizing the aspiration to build a peaceful, unified, democratic, prosperous, more dignified, and beautiful Vietnam, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world's leading powers, as was the sacred wish of President Ho Chi Minh during his lifetime.

At the same time, we must deeply internalize and creatively develop Ho Chi Minh's thought that the people are the foundation, the center, and the subject of the revolutionary cause; simultaneously, we must creatively apply and develop Ho Chi Minh's thought, ethics, and style to build our Party into a truly clean, strong, ethical, and civilized organization; continue to vigorously innovate the leadership methods and enhance the Party's governing capacity; educate and train cadres and Party members to be both politically sound and professionally competent, "diligent, thrifty, honest, upright, selfless, and impartial"; enhance revolutionary ethics, eradicate individualism, and continue writing the golden pages of the 100-year history of the Party's leadership of the Vietnamese revolution, so that our Party will forever be worthy of being the leader and the truly loyal servant of the people, as he instructed.

“Our nation, our people, our land and country gave birth to President Ho Chi Minh – the great national hero, who brought glory to our nation, our people, and our land and country. Under the glorious banner of the Party, the entire Party, the entire army, and the entire people are united in their efforts and determination to successfully achieve the goals of national development, self-reliance, self-confidence, and strong progress in the new era of development for a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilized, and happy Vietnam, steadily advancing towards socialism, fulfilling the wishes of President Ho Chi Minh during his lifetime and the aspirations of the entire nation,” Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized.

In his welcoming remarks at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, affirmed: The national conference "President Ho Chi Minh - A beautiful symbol of the will and aspiration for national independence, freedom, and happiness for the people" is a political and scientific event of profound significance; contributing to affirming, raising awareness, spreading, and further promoting the values ​​of his thoughts, ethics, will, and noble aspirations in the new revolutionary period.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung expressed his belief that the many valuable theoretical and practical insights from the presentations by scientific researchers, leaders, and managers at the conference will serve as an important basis for all levels, sectors, and localities to develop strategies, resolutions, programs, and policies for the new term and the long term.

For Nghe An province, the provincial leadership has determined that it will promptly absorb and apply the theoretical and practical values ​​from the conference in successfully implementing the Politburo's resolutions, along with the conclusions of General Secretary To Lam at the working session with the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee on May 15th; to build the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress; and to develop an action program to achieve the goal of becoming a "prosperous province," striving to become a model of modern local development in the new era.

The conference organizing committee received 90 papers from leaders and former leaders of the Party and State, ministries and departments at the central and local levels, practitioners, scientists, and delegates who deeply analyzed and interpreted the glorious revolutionary life and career of President Ho Chi Minh and honored his great contributions to realizing the nation's aspirations for independence, freedom, and happiness for the people.

The discussions also further clarified and affirmed the stature, value, and enduring vitality of Ho Chi Minh's legacy for Vietnam and the world, suggesting many issues for continuing to apply and creatively develop his thought in the new era of the nation.

In that session, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - presented a paper on the topic: "The will and aspiration for national independence and reunification of President Ho Chi Minh - historical value and contemporary significance".

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee - presented a paper entitled: "Following the path chosen by the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, Ho Chi Minh City is steadily advancing in the new era of development, realizing the aspiration for prosperity and happiness."

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hong Son - Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee - presented a paper on the topic of Ho Chi Minh's thought on socialist industrialization linked to building an independent and self-reliant economy, and the creative application and development by our Party in building various sectors.

Comrade Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, presented a paper on the topic of nurturing and promoting the role of the younger generation according to Ho Chi Minh's ideology in realizing the aspiration for national development.

From her hometown of Nam Dan, on behalf of the district leadership, Comrade Tran Thi Hien - Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairwoman of the District People's Council of Nam Dan - presented a paper entitled: Nam Dan implements President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, building a model homeland and confidently moving into a new era.

Spreading and concretizing the will and aspirations of President Ho Chi Minh through specific actions and deeds.

In his concluding remarks at the conference, General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Party Committee of the Public Security Ministry, and Minister of Public Security, affirmed: After a busy and highly responsible working session, with boundless gratitude for the immense contributions of the great President Ho Chi Minh, the national scientific conference: "President Ho Chi Minh - a beautiful symbol of the will and aspiration for national independence, freedom, and happiness for the people" has been a resounding success.

“The presentations have explained, analyzed, evaluated, and deepened the glorious life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh, honoring his great contributions in realizing the nation's aspirations for independence, freedom, and happiness for the people; affirming the stature, value, and enduring vitality of Ho Chi Minh's legacy for Vietnam and the world; and suggesting many issues to continue applying and creatively developing his thought in the new era of the nation,” General Luong Tam Quang stated.

The Minister of Public Security requested that agencies and units actively utilize the results of the seminar in the process of studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh. News agencies, newspapers, radio, and television should continue to widely publicize and report on today's seminar, spreading, nurturing, fostering, and strongly promoting Ho Chi Minh's will and aspirations among all strata of the people and the armed forces, concretizing them through specific actions and deeds in building an increasingly prosperous and happy country.
