Nghe An Women's Contest with Population and Development Work
On the morning of October 8, Nghe An Department of Population and Family Planning coordinated with the Women's Union and Nghia Dan District Medical Center to organize the contest "Women with Population and Development work".
This is a meaningful activity to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union and is part of a joint program between the Population Department and the Women's Union.

With the goal of building a family of “having 2 children, being well-off, equal, progressive, happy and developing sustainably”, in recent years, the Women's Union at all levels and the Population - Health sector have closely coordinated to organize many activities to propagate and educate to raise awareness and responsibility of couples of childbearing age to have small families, build happy and sustainable families and preserve and promote good cultural values of the family.

Besides the achievements, preserving and protecting the good cultural traditions of the family today is also posing difficulties and challenges.
In particular, violations of the law and social evils, domestic violence, divorce, separation, sexual abuse, child rape, trafficking of girls and women are increasing; conflicts between generations regarding behavior and lifestyle have been and are penetrating into families. That has significantly affected the quality of population, the happiness of each individual, family and the whole society.

From this reality, it is necessary to require more drastic participation of Party committees at all levels, authorities, departments, branches, and organizations, in which, especially the cooperation, unanimity, and solidarity of the Women's Union and the Population - Health sector at all levels.
With the theme: "Connecting love - Full of happiness",Contest "Women with Population and Development"will contribute to raising the understanding of women members and people about the policies and laws of the Party and State on Population and Development; the role, responsibility and contribution of women in all aspects of life, thereby improving the quality of life.
The contest is a playground and opportunity for healthy, useful and practical exchange for women in the work of Population and Development.

This year's competition had the participation of 4 teams from 23 communes and towns in Nghia Dan district. Through 3 rounds: Greeting, Knowledge (with the theme "Understanding and sharing") and Talent. The teams demonstrated their understanding of the policies of the Party, the State, and the province on Population and Development; knowledge and skills in reproductive health care, family planning; benefits of screening, diagnosis and treatment of some prenatal and neonatal diseases.

In addition, through the presentation round, the teams also expressed their views on the role of women in the family; the key to a happy family, modern women... Some of the content was presented in the form of skits, which also created an impression on the audience and conveyed many meaningful messages./.
