Today, the National Assembly is holding an extraordinary session to discuss personnel matters.

Previously, on August 16th, the Central Committee of the Party held a meeting to review and give opinions on personnel matters. At the meeting, the Central Committee decided to nominate personnel and provide input for the Politburo to nominate personnel to fill leadership positions in several state agencies for the 2021-2026 term, in accordance with regulations.

The National Assembly holds regular sessions twice a year. However, the National Assembly may convene extraordinary sessions if requested by the President, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister, or at least one-third of the total number of deputies.

The 15th National Assembly held seven extraordinary sessions, five of which were organized to consider and decide on high-level personnel appointments.

According to the Law on the Organization of the National Assembly, the National Assembly elects the leaders of the State, the leaders of the National Assembly, and the leaders of the State power organs.

Simultaneously, approve the Prime Minister's proposal for the appointment of deputy prime ministers, ministers, and other members of the Government.
