Over 1,200 athletes participated in the Military Region 4 Sports Festival.
(Baonghean.vn) - The sports competition aims to assess the quality of physical training, sports activities, and unarmed combat of agencies, units, localities, and schools throughout the Military Region. Through the competition, athletes with good performance will be selected to form a team, organize training, and participate in the All-Army National Defense Sports Competition.
On the morning of September 23rd, at the 414th Engineering Brigade (Nam Dan, Nghe An), the 4th Military Region Command held the opening ceremony of the 2019 Military Region-level Sports and Physical Training Competition. Major General Tran Vo Dung, Political Commissar of the 4th Military Region, attended the opening ceremony and presented commemorative flags to the participating teams. Major General Ha Tho Binh, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff, and Head of the Organizing Committee of the competition, presided over the opening ceremony.

At the sports competition, athletes will compete in 10 events for regular troops, including: Four combined military disciplines; Healthy Soldier; Obstacle Course for physical training; Armed Swimming; Unarmed combat in weight categories from 54 to 76kg; Men's volleyball; Men's and women's team badminton; Men's and women's team table tennis; Men's team tennis; and a 10km cross-country run.
For militia members under the Military Command of the 6 provinces, there will be 3 events: Combined military triathlon; Swimming with rifle and light equipment (100m for men; 50m for women); and Militia combat martial arts (men and women).

Referees must uphold a high sense of responsibility, evaluate athletes' performance honestly, objectively, fairly, and accurately; and select those with outstanding achievements to participate in the 2019 All-Army Sports Festival.
The athletes must always remain calm, confident, compete to the best of their abilities, and strive for the highest possible results in each event; they must be united, honest, noble, and learn from each other to strive for the success of the 2019 Military Region Sports Festival.
