Over 1,800 reporters and journalists registered to cover ASEAN 27.

According to data from the Press Secretariat of the 27th ASEAN Summit, more than 1,800 reporters and journalists have registered to cover ASEAN 27 and related conferences, taking place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from November 18-22.

Among them were 750 local journalists and over 1,000 international journalists from various news agencies and media outlets in ASEAN countries, as well as agencies such as Reuters, AP, AFP, Kyodo, and Xinhua.

A press center has been established on a total area of ​​2,600 square meters and is equipped with numerous computers, printers, photocopiers, and internet access (wifi and local network) to provide the best possible conditions for journalists to work.

The organizing committee also established support teams for reporters, such as an MRO team to help reporters travel to conferences, a technical team, a materials team, and a department to assist with interview registration.

Ms. Zaria Mohd Nasri, a staff member of the Secretariat, said: "We started preparing very early to ensure we provided the best facilities and resources for reporters covering the 27th ASEAN Summit and related meetings."

Regarding security, the Royal Malaysian Army and Police deployed approximately 8,500 soldiers and police officers to ensure security for the 27th ASEAN Summit and related meetings.

Malaysian Army Chief of Staff, General Zulkifeli Mohd Zin, said the army would deploy 4,500 soldiers, of which about 2,000 had already been stationed at strategic locations in the city and the remaining 2,500 were on standby awaiting orders.

At the same time, the Royal Malaysian Police deployed more than 4,000 security personnel throughout the city, particularly at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, where the conferences were taking place.
