Over 100 monks and Buddhist followers in Nghe An province donated more than 70 units of blood, saving the lives of many patients.
On July 6th, more than 100 monks and Buddhist followers gathered at the grounds of Diec Pagoda (located in Thanh Vinh ward, an administrative unit formed by the merger of Cua Nam, Dong Vinh, Hung Binh, Le Loi, Quang Trung wards and Hung Chinh commune of the former Vinh city) to participate in a blood donation drive, spreading the spirit of compassion and community service.
According to the monks at the temple, voluntary blood donation is an activity within the framework of the Summer Retreat program of Buddhist year 2569.
The rainy season retreat of the Buddhist year 2569 is not only an opportunity for monks to focus on their studies and cultivate their spirituality through morality, concentration, and wisdom, but also to cultivate compassion through acts of sharing for the sake of life, vowing to dedicate themselves to service, and connecting the Dharma with life through concrete and practical actions.

Venerable Thich Dong Tueabbot of Da PagodaOne of the participants in the blood donation stated: “Every drop of blood donated is an act of sharing, a connection between religion and life, between spirituality and humanity. This is also a way for monks, nuns, and Buddhists to contribute to building a compassionate society that knows how to love and share. At the same time, it demonstrates the engaged spirit of a Buddhist follower: ‘Serving humanity, upholding the dignity of the Sangha.’”

The voluntary blood donation by monks is a noble act, demonstrating a spirit of mutual support and responsibility towards the community. This action not only helps save the lives of patients but also spreads profound humanitarian values, encouraging a spirit of volunteerism in society.
During the voluntary blood donation day for monks at the Diec Pagoda grounds, nearly 100 monks and Buddhist followers participated, resulting in the collection of over 70 units of blood.
