More than 150 countries were invited to Russia for a security meeting.
Russia invited more than 150 countries to participate in its annual security conference, hosted by the Russian Security Council.
According to TASS on May 12, the Russian Security Council announced that more than 150 countries and over 20 international organizations have been invited to attend the 13th International Meeting of High-Level Representatives on Security Issues, which will be held in Moscow from May 27-29, chaired by the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergei Shoigu.
"Invitations to participate in the forum have been sent to more than 150 countries in the Southern and Eastern Hemispheres.","The CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization), EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union), SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization), as well as leaders of more than 20 international organizations, will participate. The agenda of the 13th forum includes issues of international cooperation in the field of security," the statement said.
The Russian Security Council has hosted an annual international meeting of high-level representatives responsible for security issues since 2010. The forum is an important international platform for exchanging views on all issues related to global security and for mechanisms to enhance cooperation among partner countries in the fight against international terrorism, extremism, transnational crime, drug trafficking, as well as new challenges and threats.
Earlier in March, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu told reporters that Russia would invite US representatives to a security meeting in Moscow in May of high-level representatives responsible for security issues.
