More than 150 countries invited to Russia for security meeting
Russia invited more than 150 countries to participate in the annual Security Conference chaired by the Russian Security Council.
According to TASS on May 12, the Russian Security Council said that more than 150 countries and more than 20 international organizations were invited to attend the 13th international meeting of senior representatives in charge of security issues, which will be held in Moscow from May 27 to 29 under the chairmanship of Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu.
“Invitations to participate in the forum have been sent to more than 150 countries in the Southern and Eastern Hemispheres.,CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization), EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union), SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization), as well as leaders of more than 20 international organizations. The agenda of the 13th forum includes issues of international cooperation in the field of security," the statement said.
The Russian Security Council has been holding an annual international meeting of senior representatives in charge of security issues since 2010. The forum is an important international platform for exchanging views on all issues related to global security and mechanisms for enhancing cooperation between partner countries in the fight against international terrorism, extremism, transnational crime, drug trafficking, as well as new challenges and threats.
Earlier in March, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu told reporters that Russia would invite US representatives to attend a security meeting in Moscow in May of senior representatives in charge of security issues.
