More than 20 people were caught red-handed betting on the World Cup by the police.

Football betting subjects were caught red-handed by Huong Tra town police.

On the afternoon of July 15, Huong Tra Town Police (Thua Thien-Hue Province) announced that they had just destroyed a gambling den in the form of football betting, arresting 23 subjects, seizing many exhibits, vehicles and a large amount of cash.

Previously, at 9:40 p.m. on July 14, Nguyen Huu Nguyen (33 years old, residing in Van Cu village, Huong Toan commune, Huong Tra town) organized 22 other people to gamble on football matches in the World Cup at his private home.

Football betting evidence was seized by the police at Nguyen's house.

While the subjects were betting, the police force raided and caught them red-handed. At the time of the arrest, the police force discovered and temporarily seized many exhibits and vehicles related to gambling, including: 1 laptop and wifi transmitter; 20 mobile phones of various types, 20 motorbikes and over 120 million VND.

Currently, Huong Tra Town Police are continuing to investigate and handle the case according to the provisions of law.
