Over 200 universities and colleges have undergone quality accreditation.
The Ministry of Education and Training has just announced the list of universities and training programs that have been evaluated and recognized as meeting educational quality standards.
According to the Ministry, there are currently 195 higher education institutions and 11 teacher training colleges that have been assessed and recognized as meeting national educational quality standards.
In addition, 11 higher education institutions have been evaluated and recognized as meeting international quality standards, including: Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (VNU-HCM), Da Nang University of Technology, Hanoi University of Technology, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, University of Science (VNU-Hanoi), Ton Duc Thang University, International University (VNU-HCM), Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, British University Vietnam (BUV), Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and Van Lang University.
Regarding training programs, currently 1,893 training programs have completed self-assessment reports; 1,595 training programs have undergone external evaluation.
A total of 1,425 programs were evaluated and accredited as meeting domestic educational quality standards; 574 programs were evaluated and accredited as meeting foreign educational quality standards.
The Ministry of Education and Training notes that, before the educational quality accreditation certificate expires, educational institutions need to proactively develop and implement a self-assessment plan, select an educational quality accreditation organization according to regulations to continue to be assessed and recognized as meeting educational quality standards in the next cycle; ensuring compliance with the regulation that the educational quality accreditation cycle for educational institutions and training programs is 5 years.
The Ministry is currently seeking feedback on a draft Circular regulating the quality accreditation of training programs at all levels of higher education, to replace Circular No. 04/2016/TT-BGDĐT and other related Circulars.
