(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of July 29th, the Nghe An Provincial Traditional Martial Arts Association organized the First Nghe An Traditional Martial Arts Championship.

Traditional Vietnamese martial arts are the essence of the Vietnamese nation, reflecting the spirit and character of the Vietnamese people. Traditional martial arts are a discipline that combines strength and flexibility; therefore, in addition to training students in strength, speed, and endurance, and highly artistic techniques, students also develop agility and grace.

The first Nghe An Provincial Traditional Martial Arts Tournament was organized to promote the martial spirit of the nation; preserve martial arts culture and develop the training movement among the people; and provide an opportunity for martial arts schools, styles, and clubs to showcase the diverse and rich essence and techniques of Nghe An's traditional martial arts.
The competition featured 15 teams with over 200 martial arts students and coaches from 10 districts, towns, and cities in the province. The students competed for 28 sets of medals in the following categories: Individual Poomsae (forms); Individual weaponry; Sparring; Group performance; and Traditional martial arts for health and well-being performance.
The first Traditional Martial Arts Tournament of Nghe An Province will take place from July 29th to July 31st.
