More than 3,200 prisoners of Prison No. 6 wrote letters of "Apology"
(Baonghean.vn)- On the morning of January 8, Prison No. 6 (General Department VIII - Ministry of Public Security) held the 2016 Prisoner Family Conference and summarized the "Sending Apologies" letter writing movement.
Attending the Conference were Major General Do Ta Hao - Director of the Department of Rehabilitation Education and Community Integration (C86) - General Department VIII, Ministry of Public Security.
The conference also had the participation of 120 delegates representing relatives of prisoners whose children are serving sentences at Prison No. 6, along with 400 prisoners, representing more than 4,200 prisoners serving sentences at Prison No. 6 located in Hanh Lam commune (Thanh Chuong).
The “Family of Prisoners” Conference is an opportunity for prisoners to meet and exchange thoughts and feelings with their relatives, thereby gaining more motivation to reform well and return to their families soon. Also through this conference, relatives of prisoners understand more about the policies for their children in prison.

On this occasion, Prison No. 6 organized a preliminary summary of the "Apologize" letter writing movement launched by the General Department VIII (Ministry of Public Security). Responding to the movement, Prison No. 6 had 3,216 "Apologize" letters written by prisoners, accounting for 83% of the total number of prisoners serving sentences here. Of these, 659 letters were of good quality, 2,207 letters were classified as fair and average.

The letter expressed remorse, repentance, and apologies to the victim, the victim's family, the prisoner's relatives, and the agencies and units where the prisoner worked and resided.

On this occasion, Nghe An Provincial Library presented Prison No. 6 with a number of books to add to the prison library, thereby improving the reading culture of prisoners, helping prisoners better understand the Party's policies and the State's laws.

At the Conference, General Department VIII awarded 6 groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in the amnesty work in 2015; awarded 2 groups and 10 individuals with achievements in the "Send Apology" letter writing movement. In addition, the Board of Directors of Prison No. 6 commended and rewarded 7 prisoners with achievements in the "Send Apology" letter writing movement.
