More than 340 players participated in the 2nd 'Phoenix Central Capital' Chess Tournament

On the morning of February 16, in Vinh city, Nghe Chess Club in collaboration with Phan Chess Academy Club (PCA) organized the opening ceremony of the 2nd "Phuong Hoang Trung Do" Chess Tournament to welcome Spring 2025.

Attending the opening ceremony were representatives of the Department of Culture and Sports, members of the Organizing Committee and 343 players from 10 Chess Clubs in the province.

After the success of the first "Phuong Hoang Trung Do" Chess Tournament - welcoming Spring 2024, Phan Chess Academy Chess Club (PCA) of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted was officially launched. The club was founded by the school's students, with the support and advice of former chess player - teacher Phan Phuong Duc, and the cooperation of Nghe Chess Club founded by teacher Nguyen Thi Mai. These efforts have contributed to spreading positive influences in training intellectual sports, while creating a useful and healthy playground for students in Vinh city in particular and Nghe An province in general.

To continue spreading positive passion, to maintain a useful playground for students, develop intelligence and physical strength, continue to build and develop the chess movement among school-age children in Nghe An, the 2nd "Phuong Hoang Trung Do" Chess Tournament welcomes Spring 2025 was organized with the desire to become a bridge to pass on to the young generation the flame of passion, to strive to study and work hard to wholeheartedly contribute to the homeland.

The 2nd "Phuong Hoang Trung Do" chess tournament gathered 343 players from 10 chess clubs in the province.chess playercompete in the following age groups: Men: U6, U7, U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U14 and open; Women: U8, U10, U12 and open.

Participating in the competition, the players were awarded 135 prizes, including 13 Gold Medals, 13 Silver Medals and 26 Bronze Medals.

The tournament is expected to close and award ceremony will be held this afternoon (February 16).
