Over 340 chess players participated in the 2nd 'Phoenix Central Capital' Chess Tournament.

On the morning of February 16th, in Vinh City, the Nghe Chess Club, in collaboration with the Phan Chess Academy (PCA), held the opening ceremony of the 2nd "Phuong Hoang Trung Do" Chess Tournament to celebrate the Spring of 2025.

Attending the opening ceremony were representatives from the Department of Culture and Sports, members of the Organizing Committee, and 343 chess players from 10 chess clubs in the province.

Following the success of the first "Phoenix Central City" Chess Tournament – ​​celebrating the Spring of 2024, the Phan Chess Academy (PCA) of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted has officially launched. The club was founded by students of the school, with support and advice from former chess player and teacher Phan Phuong Duc, and in collaboration with the Nghe Chess Club founded by teacher Nguyen Thi Mai. These efforts have contributed to spreading a positive influence in intellectual sports training, while creating a beneficial and healthy playground for students in Vinh City in particular and Nghe An province in general.

To continue spreading this positive passion, maintain a beneficial playground for students, develop their intellect and physical abilities, and further build and develop the chess movement among school-aged children in Nghe An, the 2nd "Phuong Hoang Trung Do" Chess Tournament is being held to celebrate the Spring of 2025. It is organized with the desire to become a bridge to pass on to the younger generation the flame of passion, to study hard, to strive and wholeheartedly contribute to their homeland.

The 2nd "Phoenix Central Capital" Chess Tournament brought together 343 chess players from 10 chess clubs in the province.chess playerCompetitions are held in the following age groups: Boys: U6, U7, U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U14 and open; Girls: U8, U10, U12 and open.

In the competition, the players were awarded 135 prizes, including 13 Gold medals, 13 Silver medals, and 26 Bronze medals.

The tournament is expected to conclude and the awards ceremony will be held this afternoon (February 16th).
