Over 60 houses and schools collapsed or had their roofs blown off in Que Phong.
(Baonghean.vn) - Affected by Typhoon No. 2, Que Phong district is currently experiencing very heavy rain. Initial updates on flood damage since last night indicate that more than 60 houses and schools in the district have collapsed or had their roofs blown off.
The worst affected area was Tri Le commune, where 57 houses had their roofs blown off and 2 houses completely collapsed. Many rice fields, crops, and fish ponds were swept away by the flood. Rivers and streams rose high, completely isolating villages located on both sides of the streams.

Contacting us, Ms. Luong Thi Huong from Muong Phu village, Thong Thu commune, expressed her concern: "My family lives right next to the stream and is severely affected. The flood swept away a 24-meter-long, 5-meter-high embankment, the kitchen, and all our chickens and ducks. The landslide has already reached the foundation of our house, and my family is worried that the house will be swept away as well because the stream water is rising very high…"

In a conversation with Mr. Le Van Giap, Chairman of the People's Committee of Que Phong district, he stated: "Currently, all leaders and departments of the district are going down to the communes to assess the situation."
