Over 600 officers and soldiers of the Border Guard Force received commendations.

(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of December 15th, the Nghe An Border Guard Command held a conference to summarize the emulation movement for decisive victory in 2017 and to launch the emulation movement for 2018.

In 2017, units along the two border guard lines performed well in border protection and combating various types of crime, detecting, arresting, and prosecuting 264 cases/334 individuals, seizing 77 blocks of heroin and 5,396 synthetic drug pills.

Actively monitoring the situation both domestically and internationally; actively participating in strengthening the grassroots political system, implementing the new rural development program, and eradicating poverty in border areas; mobilizing 2.204 billion VND to implement the Border Guard's joint efforts in building new rural areas and assisting 3 poor communes as assigned by the Provincial People's Committee.

Effectively carry out border defense diplomacy, maintain the program of signing fraternal agreements between the two sides of the border. Proactively implement plans for disaster prevention and control, search and rescue, and assist the people in developing their economy, culture, and society. Propagate and encourage the people to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies and the laws of the State.

With the achievements made, at the conclusion of the 2017 emulation movement, 603 officers and soldiers of the Nghe An Border Guard were awarded commendations.
