More than 90 universities announce admission scores
On the morning of July 31, 7 members of Hanoi National University and many medical schools announced their admission scores. The highest score is still the People's Security Academy - 30.5.
This morning, a series of famous universities such as National Economics, Hanoi Medical University, Thai Binh Medical University announced their scores.pass (standard score).Because the national high school exam scores were higher than last year, the benchmark scores increased sharply, such as National Economics with the highest score of 27, the highest in the past 3 years, equivalent to medical and police schools.
With 18 military schools, the entrance standards for candidates in the South are about 1-2 points lower than in the North. Some schools, such as Artillery Officer, have a difference of up to 4 points; and Armored Officer, a difference of up to 7 points.
Previously on July 29, 7 police schools announced their admission scores. This is also the group of schools with the highest admission scores to date. The People's Security Academy topped the list with a benchmark score of 30.5 for 3 subjects without the coefficient.
According to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, by 5:00 p.m. on August 1, schools must announce the results of the first round of admission.

The benchmark score is the total score of three subjects of the admission combination (can be block A, B, C, D...), regional and subject priority points. Some schools have subjects multiplied by a factor of two, or converted to a 30-point scale according to regulations of the Ministry of Education.
For example, the English department of the University of Foreign Languages, the entrance standard is English score multiplied by a factor of 2, plus Math and Literature scores, all multiplied by 3/4; then plus priority points.

In the 2017 exam, more than 865,000 candidates nationwide took the national high school exam for graduation and university and college admission. More than 643,000 (75%) candidates took the exam to get university admission results. Meanwhile, the quota for universities and colleges nationwide was more than 392,000 (a decrease of 30,000 compared to last year). There are 336 universities, academies, and pedagogical colleges enrolling students this year, of which 140 units will consider admission based on national high school exam scores; 182 units will consider admission based on national high school exam scores and other methods such as considering transcripts or taking separate exams. With the 2017 university entrance quality assurance threshold set by the Ministry of Education at 15.5, there will be over 535,000 candidates qualified for university admission, 1.61 times the enrollment target. |
