Honda City price reduced by 10 million VND starting today (January 3rd).
Honda's B-segment sedan model has had its list price adjusted by 5 million and 9 million VND depending on the version, effective immediately in 2018.
Honda Vietnam has just announced a price adjustment for the City model in early 2018. Specifically, the Honda City CVT is priced at 559 million VND, while the 1.5TOP version is priced at 599 million VND, a reduction of 9 million and 5 million VND respectively compared to the old prices, effective from today (January 3rd).
The City is currently the only domestically assembled model of Honda Vietnam. Because it uses a 1,497 cc engine, it is subject to the new special consumption tax rate of 35% instead of the previous 40%.

Thus, Honda is the next car manufacturer to implement new 2018 prices. Meanwhile, other brands in the market with competing products in the same segment, such as Toyota and Mazda, have already announced their 2018 prices and applied them since the end of last year.
Most car manufacturers in Vietnam have implemented price reductions in 2018. In the B-segment sedan category, the Toyota Vios saw price cuts of 48-58 million VND depending on the version, effective from November 2017. The Nissan Sunny had price reductions of 35 million and 50 million VND, effective from December 2017.

In the sales race in this segment, the Toyota Vios takes the lead, even becoming the best-selling car in the market. Second place goes to the Honda City. After its updated version, sales of this sedan have increased significantly. Compared to its competitors in the segment, the Honda City also boasts some of the best-in-class features and amenities.
By the end of November 2017, Honda City had sold a total of 6,366 units, an increase of over 25% compared to the same period last year, even surpassing the total sales for the entire 12 months of 2016. Thanks to upgrades made in the middle of last year, Honda's model has become even more popular.
