2017 Honda CR-V - New engine, new transmission.
Honda's crossover model has officially arrived in Malaysia, following its debut at auto shows in Thailand and Indonesia earlier this year. This is the fourth generation of the CR-V, featuring significant changes to its exterior design; it's more youthful and sporty, with similarities to the new Civic launched last year.

The new Honda CR-V in Malaysia, in addition to being equipped with a new engine and transmission, will feature a completely new driver assistance system called Honda Sensing to enhance driving safety. This system uses a front radar scanner and a camera located on the windshield to work in conjunction with seven other active safety features such as: Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop&Go function at low speeds, active braking to reduce collisions with pedestrians, and an early collision warning system.

All different versions of the 2017 Honda CR-V will be equipped with standard airbags throughout the vehicle, VSA electronic stability control, a rearview camera, and a smart key system with push-button start.
The new Honda CR-V models in Malaysia still include 2.0L and 2.4L versions with a choice of 2WD or AWD. Meanwhile, Honda says it will offer this market another higher-end version (similar to Indonesia) using a 1.5L turbocharged, direct-injection engine paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), with a maximum power of up to 191 hp at 5,600 rpm and 243 Nm of torque from 2,000 to 5,000 rpm, significantly higher than the similar engine currently available in the C-segment sedan - the Civic Turbo - by nearly 20 hp and 23 Nm.

In Vietnam, the current Honda CR-V is still assembled domestically in two versions, 2.0L and 2.4L, priced from 1.008 to 1.178 billion VND. It is currently unclear whether the new 2017 versions of the CR-V are upgraded versions or whether they will continue to be assembled domestically or imported as complete units.
