Based on version 2.4, the CR-V specially for the Vietnamese market will have additional features in operation and safety technology.

Honda Vietnam said it is preparing to introduce to Vietnamese customers a special version of the small crossover CR-V, adding more comfort options for drivers and passengers.

The special version will be developed based on the CR-V 2.4 version currently sold in Vietnam. The car has no changes in design, most likely will have additional equipment such as tcurtain airbags, rain sensing wipers, sporty manual shift paddles. CR-V is currently in Vietnam.

CR-V in Vietnam has two engine options: 2.0 and 2.4. The 2.4 version uses the engine4-cylinder in-line, dual overhead cam DOHC integrated i-VTEC, 188 horsepower at 7,000 rpm, maximum torque of 222 Nm at 4,400 rpm.

The 4th generation Honda CR-V, launched to Vietnamese customers in 2013, caused a lot of controversy because of its many changes compared to the previous generation. From a shape suitable only for middle-aged people, the crossover model became unusually youthful.

People are interested in discussing the rear design of the car, some like it, some don't, but CR-V still surpasses Civic to become the main product of the Japanese car company from then until now in the Vietnamese market. In 2015, Honda sold 4,533 cars to Vietnamese customers. Honda is also the best-selling SUV in the US as well as the global market.

The CR-V is popular with young customers thanks to its youthful design, sporty driving feel, and many technologies that few competitors can match. However, the new design also makes the crossover lose its middle-aged customers compared to before, and its masculine appearance also makes female buyers only account for 23%. The A-pillar design has been improved but still creates many blind spots for the driver, and the noise from the chassis is still there, these are two "specialties" of Honda.

The current 2.0 and 2.4 versions of the CR-V in Vietnam are priced at 1.008 billion and 1.158 billion, respectively. The CR-V competes in a hot segment that includes rivals like the Mazda CX-5, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson and Chevrolet Captiva.
