Recently, the first updated 2018 Honda HR-V models began undergoing testing on the streets of Malaysia.

In 2013, the second-generation Honda HR-V was launched, marking a resounding global success for the brand's compact SUV line. This year, Malaysia will be one of the first markets to welcome the updated 2018 HR-V.

In terms of appearance, although the front of the car is heavily camouflaged, significant changes are still easily discernible. The Honda HR-V will feature a more robust front design, a sportier front bumper, a higher and larger Honda logo, and many other upgrades to the headlights, fog lamp housings, and grille.

At the rear, the 2018 Honda HR-V upgrade doesn't have many noticeable changes. Besides that, the interior is finished with completely new seat upholstery and a modern infotainment system. However, the cabin will still retain the characteristic layout of the previous HR-V version.

In terms of powertrain options, Honda offers a 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine, a 1.6L i-DTEC diesel engine, and a 1.5L i-VTEC+i-DCD hybrid powertrain. Details regarding the powertrain and other engine refinements have not yet been revealed by Honda.

Many experts expect the upgraded HR-V to offer a more complete Honda Sensing sensor suite to complement the advanced driver assistance and safety technologies that the automaker has upgraded.

The 2018 Honda HR-V is expected to be widely available internationally next year. HCIL is also preparing for the HR-V's launch in India.
