Born in 1984, Hong Dang was once a very popular male actor on television, especially in films where he starred alongside Hong Diem. Along with Viet Anh and Manh Truong, Hong Dang was one of the three male actors who dominated television dramas on VTV. However, Hong Dang's scandal during his trip to Spain in mid-2022 completely changed his image and life.

The scandal occurred during Hong Dang's private trip. He was on the payroll of the Hanoi Drama Theatre but traveled abroad without permission, which made the incident even more controversial. Many viewers are saddened by the absence of a beloved actor, especially in his collaborations with Hong Diem. Hong Dang has not officially announced his retirement, so many viewers hope he will return to acting soon.
