Houthis conduct large-scale military drills simulating attack on Israel
(Baonghean.vn)- Al-Masirah TV quoted a spokesman for the Houthi movement as saying that the movement had organized a large-scale military exercise simulating attacks on Israeli military barracks and settlements.
The television station aired footage showing the exercise being conducted by the movement's reserve and frontline forces “as part of preparations for the battle to conquer Palestine and holy Islamic jihad.”
Missiles, drones, tanks and artillery were used in the exercise, called “Yemen Supports Palestine,” but the date and location of the exercise were not disclosed. The TV station said the exercise began with artillery and missile attacks on alleged Israeli targets, followed by an infantry assault on those targets and alleged Israeli settlements from three directions, resulting in the seizure of them and the arrest of those inside.
Major General Ali Al-Mushki, deputy chief of staff in charge of defense of the Houthi movement, after the exercise, affirmed "readiness to support the Gaza Strip, which is suffering from grief and devastation, because the support comes from a religious and moral obligation".
The Houthis revealed the drills after confirming another missile attack on "certain targets" in the southern Israeli city of Eilat as well as an attack on a British commercial ship in the Red Sea heading to Israeli ports./.
