Hulk is accused of assaulting a coach in the Chinese Super League.

The Brazilian striker is alleged to have punched an opposing team's assistant coach while playing in the Chinese Super League (CSL).

Hulk witnessed his team Shanghai SIPG defeat Guizhou Zhicheng 3-0 on Saturday. But after the match, Guizhou's coach, Li Ping, accused the Brazilian striker of punching his assistant, Wu Ming, in the tunnel as the two teams left the field for halftime.

"Hulk cursed at my assistant in English," coach Li Ping said at the post-match press conference. "They exchanged words before Hulk threw a punch that knocked him to the floor. Foreign players come here to help develop football, but no matter how well they play, they cannot insult Chinese people."

In response to these accusations, the former Zenit striker vehemently denied them. "They are tarnishing my image," Hulk angrily wrote on Weibo. "He accuses me of violence, but where has he seen me do that? I would never behave like that, and I swear to God, I only want to do what I love most, which is playing football. I am happy in China and I love the people here."

Shanghai SIPG also issued a statement defending the $61 million Brazilian striker. The club emphasized that coach Li Ping's statements were "unfounded, creating conflict between foreign players and domestic football, and damaging the club's image."

Coach Ly Binh is about to be sacked and replaced by Spanish coach Gregorio Manzano, who previously managed Atletico Madrid, following recent poor results.
