Hung Nguyen has two more communes that have achieved the new rural development status.

(Baonghean.vn) - On December 11th, the Provincial New Rural Development Assessment Council, chaired by Mr. Vi Luu Binh - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture, Head of the New Rural Development Coordination Office, and Chairman of the Assessment Council, held a working session with Hung Thang and Hung Xa communes (Hung Nguyen district).

Also attending were members of the steering committee for building new rural areas in Hung Nguyen district.

The council reviewed and inspected the cultural infrastructure of Hamlet 17, Hung Thang, Hung Nguyen.

After 5 years of implementing the program, Hung Thang has mobilized resources totaling over 58 billion VND, of which the people contributed nearly 8 billion VND to build more than 20 km of rural roads and 15.8 km of internal field roads meeting standards; and reinforced 15.29/17.30 km of irrigation canals.

To date, per capita income has reached 22 million VND, and the poverty rate has decreased from 11% in 2010 to 3.4% in 2015. School facilities and rural markets have been invested in and built. The employment rate has reached 95%; the number of people participating in health insurance has reached 75.5%. The rate of households using clean and hygienic water has reached 100%, and waste is collected and processed in a hygienic manner...

In Hung Xa commune, after 5 years of implementing the national target program for building new rural areas, Hung Xa has mobilized a total capital of 87.49 billion VND, of which the people contributed land and labor worth 37.25 billion VND. The internal field road system has 6.7/8.7 km of paved roads meeting standards; 15/17.4 km of irrigation canals have been concreted, reaching 87%, and the drainage canal system has been dredged and upgraded to ensure service for production and people's lives. The rate of households using safe and reliable electricity has reached 100%.

Average income is 25.2 million VND/person/year, the poverty rate decreased from 9% in 2010 to 4% in 2015. The Party Committee and government annually achieve the "clean and strong" rating, political and social organizations achieve the "advanced" or higher rating; the commune police force excellently fulfills its duties; and security is maintained.

The evaluation council is working at the People's Committee of Hung Thang commune.

After conducting on-site inspections and hearing reports on the self-assessment results of the New Rural Area criteria, the members of the appraisal council unanimously agreed to recognize that both Hung Thang and Hung Xa communes have completed all 19 New Rural Area criteria.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Vi Luu Binh - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief of the New Rural Development Coordination Office, and Chairman of the Provincial New Rural Development Criteria Assessment Council - commended both Hung Thang and Hung Xa communes for their effective leadership, guidance, and communication efforts, which fostered public consensus and mobilized community contributions to the construction of infrastructure, successfully fulfilling all 19/19 New Rural Development criteria.
