Hung Thong receives certificate recognizing it as a new-style rural area.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 20th, Hung Thong commune (Hung Nguyen district) solemnly held a ceremony to receive the Certificate recognizing the commune as having achieved the New Rural Area standard in 2015.

After four years of implementing the New Rural Development program, the face of Hung Thong's rural areas has become increasingly vibrant, and the lives of the people have improved. The average economic growth rate is 12.4% per year; the average per capita income is 25 million VND per year; and the poverty rate is only 4.6%.

The Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Commendation to collectives with outstanding achievements.

The locality has focused on mobilizing 18 billion VND in investment for infrastructure construction, completing nearly 20 km of rural roads and access roads to fields in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Transport; and mobilizing 9.18 billion VND for land consolidation and exchange... The total value of projects in the area is 195 billion VND, of which the people contributed and donated land worth 109 billion VND.

Regarding the labor structure, over 90% of the workforce has regular employment; the commune meets national standards for healthcare; the environment in the villages and hamlets is clean and green; 8 out of 11 hamlets are recognized as cultural villages; 4 out of 4 schools are recognized as meeting national standards; and 84% of families are recognized as cultural families. Education is well-cared for, national defense and security are ensured, and the political system is strong and comprehensive.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the authorized representative, Comrade Hoang Van Phi - Secretary of the Hung Nguyen District Party Committee - presented the Certificate of New Rural Area Standard to the commune and awarded the commune a welfare project worth 500 million VND from the Provincial People's Committee. On this occasion, 4 collectives and 4 individuals from Hung Thong commune were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in the New Rural Area construction movement.
