Hung 'the crossbar' joins Dong A Thanh Hoa team.

With the prospect of competing in three competitions – the V.League, the National Cup, and the Shopee Cup – Dong A Thanh Hoa has been actively strengthening its squad. A series of new players have successively joined under coach Velizar Popov, including Pham Manh Hung, a former Song Lam Nghe An central defender.

Before being recruited by Dong A Thanh Hoa, the player born in 1993 had previously played for Song Lam Nghe An, SHB Da Nang, Thep Xanh Nam Dinh, and Hai Phong. Overall, Pham Manh Hung has not proven himself much during his time there, despite being highly regarded by experts for his talent.

Specifically in the 2023/2024 V.League season, playing for Hai Phong, the player from Thai Hoa town only appeared in a mere 6 matches, totaling 437 minutes. The simple reason is that Pham Manh Hung could not compete for a position with teammates such as Dang Van Toi, Nguyen Nhat Minh, and Bicou Bissainthe.

At the end of the 2023/2024 season, the contract between Hai Phong and Hung "the crossbar" officially expired. Because he was not in coach Chu Dinh Nghiem's ​​plans, Pham Manh Hung had to pack his bags and leave Lach Tray Stadium to find a new club, after a total of four seasons with the team.

Hopefully, at Dong A Thanh Hoa, Pham Manh Hung will be regularly used by coach Velizar Popov. Currently, the Thanh Hoa team possesses quite a few quality central defenders, notably foreign player Gustavo Santana, Nguyen Thanh Long and Dinh Tien Thanh.
