According to the TASS news agency on November 28, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán described his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on November 28 at the Kremlin as a success.

"Negotiations in Moscow were successful: Hungary's energy supply remains reliable," Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán wrote on Facebook.

On his way to Moscow on November 28, Prime Minister Orbán noted that he considered the main objective of the visit to be ensuring a continuous supply of Russian energy to Hungary. "Oil and gas are transported to Hungary via pipelines from Russia, and this supply is crucial for our energy security," the prime minister explained.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, who accompanied Prime Minister Orbán on the trip, summarized the talks at the Kremlin and noted that the stated goal had been achieved. According to Szijjártó, President Putin assured Prime Minister Orbán that "Russia will fulfill its contractual obligations regarding both natural gas and oil supplies." "The agreed-upon volume will be delivered to Hungary within the requested timeframe," Foreign Minister Szijjártó stated.

Hungary continues to receive the majority of its oil from Russia via the Druzhba pipeline and gas via the Turkish Stream. Prior to his visit to Moscow, Foreign Minister Szijjártó noted that by 2025, Hungary would receive 8.5 million tons of oil and more than 7 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Russia.

Additionally, at the meeting, President Putin and Prime Minister Orban discussed a number of issues, including bilateral relations and the situation surrounding Ukraine.
