Huong Giang crowned Miss International Queen 2018

Huong Giang shed tears when the MC announced her name as the new Miss International Queen 2018. This was a worthy result for what she had shown throughout the contest with her efforts, confidence and radiant beauty. In the final night, Huong Giang chose for herself a striking red evening gown and impressive heavy makeup. In each competition, she walked gracefully, showing off her beautiful body and bright smile. Her two responses were also very good, concise, to the point and carried a meaningful message about gender equality as well as calling for respect and anti-discrimination against the LGBT community. Although it was her first time participating in a beauty contest for transgender people, Huong Giang brought home the highest award. She surpassed the brightest candidate from the host country, Thailand, to convincingly win the Miss International Queen 2018 crown.

Right after being crowned, Huong Giang shared that she felt great and still could not believe her victory. She said: "That is the achievement of not only Giang but also of the whole team - the people who love Giang, especially all the audiences everywhere who have always supported Giang. Surely Giang will have the most meaningful activities for everyone, for the LGBT community to respond to the love that everyone has given her."

When entering the top 3 finalists with Thailand and Australia, Huong Giang and the two remaining contestants were asked to answer the same question: "If you had to do a community activity to make the world a better place, what would you do?". Huong Giang answered: "I want to demand equal rights for everyone because everyone wants to have a good life. Transgender people also want equality, not to be discriminated against. I hope we all work together to make the world a better place."

In the Top 6 interview round with Miss Italy, Australia, Thailand, Brazil, Venezuela, Huong Giang also performed excellently. The Vietnamese representative was asked the question: "What is your personal value?". Without thinking, Huong Giang answered briefly in Vietnamese: "I was not born as lucky as others, but I have worked hard to improve and study so that today I can be here, to become the pride of Vietnam."

Huong Giang also won two subsidiary awards of the contest: Talent and Most Viewed Introductory Video.

Previously, the final night of Miss International Queen Pageant 2018 took place in Pattaya, Thailand at 10pm on March 9.At the beginning of the program, the girls took turns performing traditional costumes on a rather grand stage. Huong Giang wore a design by Dong Dong, weighing up to 55kg. Immediately after, the two MCs announced that the winner of this award was the representative of Indonesia.Next, 28 beauties entered the Evening Gown performance. The girls chose sexy, tight dresses to show off their figures.

Top 12were called right after that. Huong Giang of Vietnam was announced last, making the audience "breathless". Huong Giang burst into tears when the MC called out her country's name. The remaining representatives were Italy, Mexico, Brazil, Laos, Mongolia, Venezuela, Australia, Sri Lanka, the US, Thailand... The 12 most beautiful girls of the contest performed in hot swimsuits with vibrant music and enthusiastic cheers from the audience.

Several secondary awards were also announced during the final night. Honduras won Miss Congeniality, Brazil won Miss Photogenic, and Venezuela won the Evening Gown award.

Miss International Queen is the largest beauty pageant for transgender beauties around the world, held annually in Thailand.In 2016, surpassing 24 international representatives, beauty Jiratchaya Sirimongkolnawin of the host country was crowned.

This year, the contest was held in the two cities of Pattaya and Bangkok in the land of golden temples. 28 contestants began gathering from February 25. Over the past two weeks, they participated in many activities such as national costume contest, swimsuit contest, talk show, filming at the beach, tuktuk parade to greet Thai people... The final night was broadcast live on G-MM25 - one of the two largest channels in Thailand.

This is the first time Vietnam has a representative participating in Miss International Queen, and she is also a famous singer, so she has received a lot of attention from the media and audience.Huong Giang was born in 1991 in Hanoi. She is 1.70m tall, weighs 52kg, and has measurements of 86-62-90. Huong Giang underwent gender reassignment surgery after graduating from high school. She became known when she participated in the 2012 Idol contest. Huong Giang is considered one of the most beautiful transgender people in Vietnam.
