Huong Giang Idol competes in Miss Trans World 2018

In recent days, images of Huong Giang Idol appearing on the official fanpage of the Miss International Queen 2018 transgender beauty pageant have surprised many, prompting widespread support. On the afternoon of January 8th, Huong Giang officially confirmed her participation.

Huong Giang said that a friend of hers, who lives and works in Thailand, registered her for the competition a month ago. Initially, Huong Giang was hesitant and had to do a lot of research. "When I saw those special people confidently wearing gorgeous dresses, shining in front of international friends and speaking up for an entire community, I suddenly felt a strange emotion. I realized that if I did this, I would be representing many people in pursuing their dreams."

Huong Giang further shared that, for her, this is not just a beauty pageant, but also a place where she can express her national pride and bring the positive image of the community she represents closer to international friends."I think about youth, and if this youthful period passes, in my memory there will be a moment of walking on stage, surrounded by so many international beauties and the gazes of the audience, amidst so many expectant hearts. To walk in the pride of so many people, to shout my name and the name of my country, perhaps that would be the most special memory of my life."

Huong Giang was born in 1991 in Hanoi. She is 1.70m tall, weighs 52kg, and has measurements of 86-62-90. Huong Giang transitioned after graduating from high school. She became known after participating in the Vietnam Idol 2012 competition. After the competition, although she only reached the top 4, Huong Giang had a thriving singing career. She is in high demand for performances, events, and game shows. Huong Giang is considered one of the most beautiful transgender women in Vietnam.

Miss International Queen is the largest beauty pageant for transgender women worldwide, held annually in Thailand. Like other beauty pageants, contestants must compete in national costume, evening gown, and swimsuit rounds. In 2016, the competition was held in Pattaya, Thailand. Out of 24 international representatives, Jiratchaya Sirimongkolnawin from the host country was crowned the winner.

This year, with representatives from 28 countries participating, Miss International Queen 2018 will begin on February 25th and the final will take place on the night of March 9th in Pattaya. The final will be broadcast live on Channel 7 - one of the largest television channels in Thailand.

The organizers said that many Vietnamese contestants submitted applications, but they chose Huong Giang as their sole representative.
