Responding to Earth Hour: Saving 485 thousand kWh of electricity
During the evening of March 24, 63 provinces and cities in Vietnam turned off the electricity, reduced the use of electrical equipment, saving 485,000 kWh, equivalent to 834 million VND.

On the evening of March 24, according to data from the National Power System Control Center, after 1 hour of officially turning off the lights for Earth Hour 2018 (from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on March 24), the amount of electricity saved nationwide was 485,000 kWh, equivalent to about 834 million VND.
Compared to previous years responding to this Campaign, the amount of electricity saved is greater.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said that along with about 7,000 cities in more than 180 countries around the world, 63 provinces and cities in Vietnam simultaneously turned off the lights and reduced the use of electrical equipment in response to the Earth Hour Campaign.
Earth Hour is an annual event, an initiative of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
