Que Phong border district is ready for early election day.

On the afternoon of May 19th, a visit to the early voting polling station in Ha Son village, Muong Ngoc commune, revealed that all preparations were underway.Elections of National Assembly and People's Council representatives at all levelsBy May 21st, everything was ready, from decorating banners and posters to setting up ballot boxes and distributing voter cards.

Ms. Truong Thi Thuong, Head of the Village's Front Committee, said: Ha Son village has 787 voters, of which 70% are Khmu ethnic people and 30% are Thai ethnic people. Thanks to the preparations made beforehand, everything was completed meticulously by May 19th.

During the voting process, voters will strictly adhere to the "5K" guidelines as recommended by the relevant authorities. The ballot boxes will open at 5:00 AM on May 21st and remain open until 7:00 PM. For the four elderly and infirm voters in the village, the Front Committee will bring supplementary ballot boxes to their homes so they can exercise their rights and fulfill their obligations in the election," said Ms. Truong Thi Thuong.

Elderly voter Cụt Văn Long from Hạ Sơn village excitedly said: "Although farming is quite busy, the whole family will temporarily set aside their work to go to the election. This is not only a right but also a responsibility of each person. I hope that the elected representatives will do their best to help the people and fulfill the wishes of the majority of voters."

Ms. Lo Thi Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Muong Ngoc commune, added: The locality has 2 pointsearly votingThis includes Ha Son and Thanh Phong 1, Thanh Phong 2 villages. By May 19th, preparations for the election at these locations were complete. Each village was provided with 10 boxes of face masks, 5 bottles of hand sanitizer, 1 thermometer, 1 disinfectant sprayer, and 1 generator in case of power outages.

"A characteristic of mountainous regions at this time of year is that thunderstorms and strong winds often occur in the afternoon, so the commune has instructed polling stations to promote and encourage voters to cast their ballots early," said Ms. Lo Thi Hong.

Mr. Bui Van Hien, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee and Chairman of the District Election Council, stated: The unique characteristic of the 10 early polling stations in the district is that they are inhabited by ethnic minorities in remote areas with difficult transportation access, and many locations lack access to the national power grid. In addition to the preparations already made early at the polling stations, the district is paying special attention to COVID-19 prevention. Accordingly, the early polling stations are strictly adhering to the Ministry of Health's "5K" recommendations, and have deployed medical personnel, medicines, equipment, and vehicles locally. The district has also established four centralized quarantine areas.

By the afternoon of May 19th, all 10 early voting polling stations in Que Phong district had completed preparations and were ready for voters to cast their ballots.
