Recently, Con Cuong district has imposed administrative penalties and suspended the operation of one illegal wood chipping facility.
Accordingly, on February 23, 2025, the functional agencies of the Con Cuong District People's Committee inspected and discovered a newly constructed and trial-operation illegal wood chipping facility built by Mr. Nguyen Van H, residing in Quyet Tien village, Chi Khe commune. The functional agencies have drawn up a record of administrative violations and submitted it to the competent authority for handling according to regulations.

Upon further inquiry, a representative from the Con Cuong District People's Committee stated: Con Cuong district has a large area of forest and forestry land, nearly 164,600 hectares; however, to date, there are no properly invested production and processing facilities...
Con Cuong District has planned a timber processing zone in the Bong Khe commune industrial cluster. Therefore, the district requests the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments to consider facilitating the completion of procedures so that the project can soon become operational and consume raw acacia wood in the area.
