The shimmering metallic dress that Huyen My wore at a recent Miss Grand International 2017 event resembles an outfit that Ha Ho wore a year ago.

On October 8th, Huyen My, along with other Miss Grand International contestants, participated in an event within the competition. The Vietnamese representative attracted attention with her striking sequined fishtail dress designed by Ly Qui Khanh. Viewers quickly noticed that Huyen My's outfit resembled a dress Ho Ngoc Ha wore back in 2016.

Huyen My and Ho Ngoc Ha's dresses have many similarities.

The only difference between the two designs lies in the skirt's train. Ha Ho's dress is long, voluminous, and covers the legs completely. Huyen My's dress, on the other hand, is shorter, allowing for easier movement. Some viewers believe that Ly Qui Khanh "recycled" Ha Ho's dress for Huyen My.

The strapless, form-fitting dress helped the runner-up subtly showcase her alluring curves. However, some also commented that the sequined material and the blue-red color combination made the outfit a bit gaudy. The curly hairstyle made the Vietnamese representative look older than her age.

The Miss Grand International 2017 competition has only officially started a few days ago, but it has already attracted attention from both domestic and international audiences. Huyen My's national costume is a red ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) paired with a headpiece. The shoulders, waist, and hem are decorated with gold-plated floral patterns. According to the designer, the patterns on the headpiece and the dress are from the Nguyen Dynasty. Previously, Huyen My revealed that her traditional costume for the competition weighed 30 kg.
