Nam Dan District achieved the advanced new rural standard in 2024.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha recently signed Decision No. 921/QD-TTg dated May 14, 2025, recognizing Nam Dan district, Nghe An province, as having achieved advanced new rural standards in 2024.
According to the Decision, the Deputy Prime Minister assigned the People's Committee of Nghe An province the responsibility to announce and reward according to regulations; and directed the People's Committee of Nam Dan district to continue maintaining and improving the quality of the criteria, focusing on economic and environmental criteria to ensure sustainability in building new rural areas.
Previously, Nam Dan district was recognized by the Prime Minister as having achieved the new rural standard in 2017. Immediately after achieving the new rural standard at the district level, with the attention and support of the Central Government and the province, Nam Dan immediately began implementing the criteria for achieving the advanced new rural standard.
By the end of 2024, Nam Dan district had 18 out of 18 communes recognized as meeting the standards of new rural areas (100%); 15 out of 18 communes recognized as meeting the standards of advanced new rural areas (83.3%); 7 out of 18 communes recognized as meeting the standards of model new rural areas (38.9%); and Nam Dan town met the standards of a civilized urban area.
Nam Dan District has met 9 criteria according to the set of criteria for advanced new rural districts in the 2021-2025 period. The average per capita income in 2024 reached 67 million VND/year; the multidimensional poverty rate is 2.1%.
Basic regional infrastructure connects to meet the production and living needs of the people. 100% of the basic construction investment projects under the Program have been implemented in accordance with the procedures and regulations of the Public Investment Law. To date, Nam Dan district has no outstanding debts for basic construction in the implementation of the New Rural Development Program.

Based on the results of the verification of the advanced new rural district construction, according to the assessment of the Verification Team, it is recommended that Nam Dan district be recognized as meeting the advanced new rural standards in 2024, having basically met the criteria according to Decision No. 320/QD-TTg dated March 8, 2022 of the Prime Minister.
