Yen Thanh District officially launches new communes after merger

On December 14, Yen Thanh district held a ceremony to announce the Decision to establish administrative units, the Decision to establish Party committees of communes and towns, and the Decisions of the District Party Committee Standing Committee on personnel work.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Ho Sy Nguyet - Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Home Affairs; representatives of the Party Organization Department, party members of the Provincial Party Organization Committee; comrades in the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, the District Party Executive Committee; heads of departments, branches, Chairman of the District Fatherland Front, heads of district-level socio-political organizations; comrades in the Commune Party Executive Committee; comrades in the Chairmen of the Fatherland Front Committee, heads of socio-political organizations of communes subject to merger and arrangement; comrades in the Party secretaries and hamlet chiefs of the following communes and towns: Yen Thanh, Hoa Thanh, Phu Thanh, Hong Thanh, Hau Thanh, Hung Thanh, Nhan Thanh, Hop Thanh, Minh Thanh, Dai Thanh, Lien Thanh, Ly Thanh, Cong Thanh, Khanh Thanh.

Regarding the establishment of administrative units, according to Resolution 1243/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated October 24, 2024 of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Yen Thanh district arranges 14 communes and towns into 7 communes and towns: Merge Yen Thanh and Hoa Thanh towns into Hoa Thanh town (new); Phu Thanh and Hong Thanh communes into Phu Thanh commune (new); Hau Thanh and Hung Thanh communes into Hau Thanh commune (new); Nhan Thanh and Hop Thanh communes into Dong Thanh commune (new); Minh Thanh and Dai Thanh communes into Minh Thanh commune (new); Lien Thanh and Ly Thanh communes into Lien Thanh commune (new); Cong Thanh and Khanh Thanh communes into Van Tu commune (new).

‏On the establishment of the party organization: Establishing the Hoa Thanh town Party Committee on the basis of merging 11 party cells under the Yen Thanh town Party Committee and 13 party cells under the Hoa Thanh commune Party Committee. At the time of merger, the Hoa Thanh town Party Committee had 24 party cells and 725 party members.

‏Established Hau Thanh Party Committee on the basis of merging 13 Party Cells under Hau Thanh Party Committee and 14 Party Cells under Hung Thanh Commune Party Committee. At the time of merger, Hau Thanh Commune Party Committee still had 27 affiliated Party Cells and 606 Party members.

‏Established Dong Thanh Party Committee on the basis of merging 15 Party Cells under Hop Thanh Party Committee and 15 Party Cells under Nhan Thanh Commune Party Committee. At the time of merger, Dong Thanh Commune Party Committee still had 30 affiliated Party Cells and 732 Party members.

‏Establishing the new Phu Thanh Party Committee on the basis of merging 15 Party Cells under the Phu Thanh Party Committee and 12 Party Cells under the Hong Thanh Commune Party Committee. At the time of merger, the new Phu Thanh Commune Party Committee still had 27 affiliated Party Cells and 507 Party members.

Minh Thanh Party Committee was established on the basis of merging 14 Party cells under Minh Thanh Commune Party Committee and 9 Party cells under Dai Thanh Commune Party Committee. At the time of merger, the new Minh Thanh Commune Party Committee still had 23 Party cells and 462 Party members.

‏Establishing the new Lien Thanh Party Committee on the basis of merging 9 Party cells under the Ly Thanh Party Committee and 19 Party cells under the Lien Thanh Commune Party Committee. At the time of merger, the new Lien Thanh Commune Party Committee had 27 Party cells and 529 Party members.

‏Established Van Tu Party Committee on the basis of merging 18 party cells under Cong Thanh Party Committee and 11 party cells under Khanh Thanh Commune Party Committee. At the time of merger, Van Tu Commune Party Committee had 29 party cells and 616 party members.

The newly established Party Committees have a term of 2020 - 2025, officially coming into operation from December 16, 2024.

Regarding personnel work: Appoint executive committee, standing committee, secretary, deputy secretary of party committees of communes and towns; appoint conveners of People's Council meetings of communes.

At the announcement ceremony, comrade Tran Thi Binh - Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Council requested the Party Executive Committees of the communes to unite, collaborate, unify and with the highest political efforts, focus on leading and directing the implementation of the contents of the People's Council meeting to elect the positions of government leaders, People's Council committees, members of the People's Committees of communes and towns; develop and promulgate the working regulations of the Party Executive Committee for timely implementation.

‏From December 1, 2024, Yen Thanh district officially has 32 commune-level administrative units (31 communes and 1 town). This is an important turning point that creates positive changes to promote local resources and development potential, while streamlining the apparatus and staff to improve the quality of operations of the staff and civil servants, saving investment costs in building facilities and working equipment, creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development, improving the material and spiritual life of the people in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 18-NQ/TW.
