Yen Thanh District officially launches new communes after merger.

On December 14th, Yen Thanh district held a ceremony to announce the Decision on the establishment of administrative units, the Decision on the establishment of Party committees in communes and towns, and the Decisions of the District Party Committee Standing Committee on personnel matters.

Attending the ceremony were Comrade Ho Sy Nguyet - Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Internal Affairs; representatives from the Party Organization Department and Party members of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department; members of the District Party Committee Standing Committee and District Party Committee Executive Committee; heads of departments, agencies, and branches; the Chairman of the District Fatherland Front; heads of district-level political and social organizations; members of the commune Party Committee Executive Committee; Chairmen of the Fatherland Front Committees and heads of political and social organizations of the communes subject to merger and reorganization; and secretaries and village heads of the communes and towns of Yen Thanh, Hoa Thanh, Phu Thanh, Hong Thanh, Hau Thanh, Hung Thanh, Nhan Thanh, Hop Thanh, Minh Thanh, Dai Thanh, Lien Thanh, Ly Thanh, Cong Thanh, and Khanh Thanh.

Regarding the establishment of administrative units, according to Resolution 1243/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated October 24, 2024, of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Yen Thanh district reorganized 14 communes and towns into 7 communes and towns: merging Yen Thanh and Hoa Thanh towns into Hoa Thanh town (new); Phu Thanh and Hong Thanh communes into Phu Thanh commune (new); Hau Thanh and Hung Thanh communes into Hau Thanh commune (new); Nhan Thanh and Hop Thanh communes into Dong Thanh commune (new); Minh Thanh and Dai Thanh communes into Minh Thanh commune (new); Lien Thanh and Ly Thanh communes into Lien Thanh commune (new); Cong Thanh and Khanh Thanh communes into Van Tu commune (new).

Regarding the establishment of Party organizations: The Hoa Thanh Town Party Committee was established by merging 11 Party branches under the Yen Thanh Town Party Committee and 13 Party branches under the Hoa Thanh Commune Party Committee. At the time of the merger, the Hoa Thanh Town Party Committee had 24 subordinate Party branches and 725 Party members.

The Hau Thanh Party Committee was established by merging 13 Party branches under the Hau Thanh Party Committee and 14 Party branches under the Hung Thanh Commune Party Committee. At the time of the merger, the Hau Thanh Commune Party Committee had 27 subordinate Party branches and 606 Party members.

The Dong Thanh Party Committee was established by merging 15 Party branches under the Hop Thanh Party Committee and 15 Party branches under the Nhan Thanh Commune Party Committee. At the time of the merger, the Dong Thanh Commune Party Committee had 30 subordinate Party branches and 732 Party members.

The new Phu Thanh Party Committee was established by merging 15 Party branches under the Phu Thanh Party Committee and 12 Party branches under the Hong Thanh Commune Party Committee. At the time of the merger, the new Phu Thanh Commune Party Committee had 27 subordinate Party branches and 507 Party members.

The Minh Thanh Party Committee was established by merging 14 branches under the Minh Thanh Commune Party Committee and 9 branches under the Dai Thanh Commune Party Committee. At the time of the merger, the new Minh Thanh Commune Party Committee had 23 branches and 462 party members.

The new Lien Thanh Party Committee was established by merging 9 Party branches under the Ly Thanh Party Committee and 19 Party branches under the Lien Thanh Commune Party Committee. At the time of the merger, the new Lien Thanh Commune Party Committee had 27 subordinate Party branches and 529 Party members.

The Vân Tụ Party Committee was established by merging 18 branches under the Công Thành Party Committee and 11 branches under the Khánh Thành Commune Party Committee. At the time of the merger, the Vân Tụ Commune Party Committee had 29 branches and 616 party members.

The newly established Party Committees have a term of office from 2020 to 2025 and will officially begin operations on December 16, 2024.

Regarding personnel matters: Appointing the executive committee, standing committee, secretary, and deputy secretary of the Party committees of communes and towns; appointing conveners for the People's Council sessions of communes.

At the announcement ceremony, Comrade Tran Thi Binh - Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairwoman of the District People's Council - requested that the Party Committees of the communes unite, cooperate, and work together with the highest political effort to focus on leading and directing the implementation of the contents of the People's Council session, including the election of government leaders, People's Council committees, and members of the People's Committees of communes and towns; and to develop and promulgate the working regulations of the Party Committee to ensure timely implementation.

From December 1st, 2024, Yen Thanh district officially has 32 commune-level administrative units (31 communes and 1 town). This is a significant turning point that creates positive changes, leveraging the local resources and development potential, while streamlining the administrative apparatus and personnel, improving the quality of work of officials and civil servants, saving investment costs in infrastructure and equipment, and creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development and improving the material and spiritual lives of the people, in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 18-NQ/TW.
