The department effectively advised on the implementation of major policies of the Central Government and the province regarding healthcare. In particular, it advised the Provincial Party Committee on the action program to implement Resolution 72 NQ/TW of the Politburo on some breakthrough solutions to strengthen the protection, care, and improvement of people's health, and advised on the issuance of the plan to upgrade Nghe An Provincial Friendship General Hospital to a special-class hospital.

Stabilize the sector's operations after the administrative apparatus is reorganized according to the two-tiered local government model; complete the restructuring and streamlining of the health sector's organizational structure (merging and dissolving some centers/sub-departments, reorganizing 457 health stations into 130 health stations, etc.), strengthen the effectiveness of state management, and create a foundation for the goal of improving the effectiveness and efficiency of primary healthcare, preventive medicine, and building specialized medical centers.

Nghe An is among the top provinces that have successfully completed the measles vaccination campaign, maintaining an expanded immunization rate of over 95%, ensuring vaccination safety, and effectively controlling the risk of measles outbreaks and other infectious diseases.

The Nghe An Oncology Hospital (phase 2), with a total investment of 1,259 billion VND and a capacity of 1,000 beds, was inaugurated and put into operation. This is a Group A project, a Level I project, and a key project of Nghe An province and the North Central region.

Address the subsidy policy promptly. Social assistance has been provided to over 203,000 beneficiaries of social welfare and social pensions, with funding exceeding 1,500 billion VND, contributing to ensuring social security in the province.

Notably, two medical facilities won high awards in the National "Green, Clean, and Beautiful Medical Facility" competition, contributing to improving the quality of the medical examination and treatment environment.
