iOS 26 beta released: Liquid Glass interface, deep AI integration.

iOS 26 Public Beta

Apple has released a public beta of iOS 26 for all users participating in the Apple Beta Software Program. Compatible devices include iPhone 11 and later, including the iPhone 16 series and iPhone SE (2nd generation and later).

To install, users need to log in to beta.apple.com, enable beta updates in Settings, and then download the update via Software Update in General Settings.

List of compatible iPhones

• The iPhone 11 to iPhone 16 series (including Pro and Plus models).
• iPhone SE (2nd generation and later).

Important note before installation:

Apple advises users against installing beta software on their primary devices. Because beta versions may contain bugs or incomplete features, users should back up their iPhones via Mac Finder or iCloud before updating. Backing up ensures that data can be restored if needed.

Key features of iOS 26

1. Changes to the system design:

This version introduces Liquid Glass, a new design language with a transparent effect that adapts to the environment. This change is visible on the Lock Screen, Home Screen, app icons, and system navigation.

2. Upgrade Apple Intelligence:

• Live Translation:Translate directly in Messages, FaceTime, and the Phone app.
• Visual Intelligence:Users can ask questions about the content displayed on the screen.
• Smarter keyboard shortcuts:Suggestions based on AI.

3. Improved communication:

• The Phone app features Call Screening and Hold Assist.
• Messages allows you to create polls, customize chat backgrounds, and transfer Apple Cash.
• Group chat displays typing status, and unidentified senders are filtered.

4. Update the app:

• Apple Music:Added features for Lyrics Translation and AutoMix transitions.
• Maps:Includes privacy protection for visited locations and improved routing.
• Wallet:Installment payment support, boarding pass updates, and new integrations.
• New Games app:A hub for mobile gaming.

CarPlay has also been refreshed, adding support for widgets, pinned conversations, and Live Activities.

Apple is expected to release the official version of iOS 26 in September 2025, coinciding with the launch of the iPhone 17 series.
