Iran will use its missile program to retaliate against new US sanctions.

Iran's parliament has just approved a bill allocating $520 million to develop its missile program in response to US sanctions, AFP reported.

"Americans need to know that this is our first step," the news agency quoted Speaker of Parliament Ali Larijani as saying.

According to Ali Larijani, the bill passed on Sunday (August 13) aims to "counter terrorist acts and American adventurism in the region."

According to data from the IRNA news agency, the bill received the support of 240 out of 247 members of parliament.
