The 15-minute video, posted on September 16 by a media channel linked to the Islamic State (IS), shows IS militants executing people they called "spies" in the Wilayat Ninawa region of Iraq, according to Mirror.
The video shows a blond boy, no older than 10, wearing camouflage clothing and holding a gun. A militant, seemingly white, then appears to "help" the boy shoot prisoners in the back of the head. The boy, whose identity is currently unknown, is likely of European descent.
ISIS frequently boasts about the "next generation of warriors of the empire." A video that emerged earlier this week showed young boys describing their dream of "martyrdom." The voiceover described this as "the generation that will conquer Damascus, Baghdad, Jerusalem, Mecca, al-Median, Dabiq, Rome, and Andalusia."
ISIS recruits and abducts thousands of children, then brainwashes them, turning them into suicide bombers who use knives or guns to kill. The emergence of ISIS's so-called "Heroic Battle Generation" has experts worried that more children will be forced into combat.
