ISIS militants carried out a suicide bombing attack on the Iraqi embassy in Afghanistan, but caused no casualties among the Baghdad delegation.

Afghanistan's Interior Ministry said at least four militants attacked the Iraqi embassy in Kabul today. One militant detonated a bomb at the embassy entrance, while the other three stormed the building, AFP reported.

"Police rapid response teams arrived promptly and evacuated Iraqi diplomats to safety. No embassy staff were injured, only one police officer sustained minor injuries," according to the Afghan Interior Ministry. All attackers were killed.

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry announced that it is coordinating with Afghan authorities to monitor the situation.

The Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility through its Amaq propaganda channel. Two IS militants "attacked the Iraqi embassy building in Kabul, Afghanistan."

IS has a branch in Afghanistan called the Islamic State of Khorasan Province (IS-K), operating primarily in the eastern provinces of Nangarhar and Kunar. They have claimed responsibility for several bombings in Kabul. US forces in Afghanistan have repeatedly attacked IS-K, killing its leader Abu Sayed and several high-ranking members in an airstrike on July 11th in Kunar.
