The explosion killed at least three police officers and injured several others.
Immediately after the incident, the IS branch in Egypt claimed responsibility through a Twitter account.
According to IS's Twitter account, the bombing was in retaliation for "infidels capturing Bedouin women."
Previously, on October 31st, this branch attracted attention by claiming to have shot down a Russian Airbus civilian aircraft, killing 224 people.
It is known that since developing its network in Egypt, IS branches have carried out almost daily attacks targeting soldiers and police forces in the country.
