Israel shells Syrian airport; Damascus threatens retaliation.

Israeli forces shelled an airport near Damascus. Following the incident, the Syrian army warned Tel Aviv of the possibility of retaliation.

Earlier, several explosions rocked the area around the El Mezza air base, 8 km west of Damascus. The Syrian military later announced that the missiles were fired from the Lake Galilee region in northern Israel. Following the explosions, a fire broke out in the airfield area. There was no information on damage or casualties.

The Syrian military command stated that Israel's actions were biased in favor of the fighters Damascus is battling. The Syrian army also warned Tel Aviv of a possible retaliatory response following the incident.
