Statistics from Transfermarkt indicate that the English strategist boasts a significantly more impressive track record than his predecessors and other candidates such as Shin Tae-yong or Patrick Kluivert.

John Herdman, born in 1975, has proven his capabilities through 108 official matches as a manager. During his career, he has led the Canadian national team, the Canadian U23 team, and Toronto FC in the Canadian league. His specific record includes 54 wins, 13 draws, and 41 losses.
Notably, Herdman's win rate reached 50%, an ideal figure for strategists working at the national team level. With an average of 1.62 points per game, he is considered a highly reliable choice for Indonesia's football ambitions.
Compared to Shin Tae-yong and Patrick Kluivert
When compared to coach Shin Tae-yong, who led Indonesia from 2020–2025, John Herdman's statistics are slightly better.
