Cowardly man stabbed girlfriend 9 times then posted a picture of the knife on Facebook
Hanoi police have just completed the investigation conclusion, proposing to prosecute Pham Van Vien (born 1994, in Hai Duong) for murder.
According to the investigation, Vien and Ms. T. (born in 1993, in Hung Yen) have been in love since 2013. In August 2018, Ms. T. took the initiative to break up. Vien texted many times via Zalo and Facebook to try to win back their relationship, but was always rejected by T., so he texted threatening to throw acid on and kill his girlfriend.
On the afternoon of October 14, 2018, Vien logged into his Facebook account and saw a photo of Ms. T. standing next to a boyfriend. Thinking that Ms. T. had a new boyfriend, Vien was extremely angry.

That afternoon, he rode his motorbike, carrying a dagger, to Bui Thi Xuan Street, Hanoi, waiting for Ms. T. to come home from work to ask her for an explanation. At 7:00 p.m. the same day, seeing Ms. T. coming out of work, Vien followed her and invited her to go out for coffee, but she sped away.
The officer grabbed Ms. T.'s shoulder and pulled her motorbike back, causing her to fall onto the road. While the girl fell to the ground and shouted, "Help me," the man grabbed her by the back of her shirt, dragged her into the middle of the road, and stabbed her once in the stomach and eight times in the back with a knife.
At this time, many passersby surrounded the area. Fearing arrest, Vien ran away. After committing the crime, the jealous man called the victim's mother and cousin to inform them that he had just stabbed Ms. T.
Vien also calmly took a photo of the murder weapon and posted it on his personal Facebook page, with the caption: "The blood of the girl who has been with me for 5 years, Nguyen Thi Thu T.".
Fearing that posting photos on Facebook would be discovered and arrested by the police, Vien deactivated his Facebook account, broke his phone SIM card, and threw away the knife to commit the crime. On October 16, 2018, he went to the police station to surrender.
As for the victim, she escaped death because she was taken to the emergency room in time, but suffered 65% health damage. Ms. T. asked Vien to compensate her more than 200 million VND and requested that the defendant be prosecuted according to the law.
The investigation concluded that Ms. T.’s survival was beyond Vien’s wishes. The suspect’s motive for committing the crime was despicable and should be severely punished for general deterrence and prevention.
