The above information was confirmed by Lieutenant Colonel Y Be Ksor - Deputy Director of Dak Lak Provincial Police - on the morning of August 14. The reason why the Dak Lak Execution Council postponed the execution of the death sentence was because Vy Be Ngoat claimed to be a witness in a murder case that occurred in 2009.
“After this incident, the Execution Council decided to temporarily postpone the injection of the drug for death row inmate Ngoat. Currently, the provincial police have requested the relevant units to clarify because death row inmate Ngoat is the only witness,” informed Lieutenant Colonel Y Be.
Mr. Y Be said that when the investigation conclusion of the authorities is available, the sentence against Ngoat will continue to be executed.
As reported, at around 6am on October 21, 2013, Vy Be Ngoat (42 years old, residing in Ea H'Leo district, Dak Lak) pushed a bicycle carrying a bag of coffee to Ea Hiao market to sell.
On the way home, when passing by the gate of Ms. Trieu Thi Bai's house, Ngoat saw a goose in the yard so he had the idea of stealing it to eat but was discovered by HCN (11 years old, Ms. Bai's son). N. told Ngoat that he would go home and tell Mr. Kham, an acquaintance in the family.
Afraid of being discovered, Ngoat twisted the goose's neck until it died and then put it in the chicken coop in the kitchen. Seeing the bird hammer standing in the corner of the kitchen, Ngoat took it and went outside.
Seeing Ngoat coming out with a hammer, N. was scared and ran into the house. Ngoat chased him into the house and used a hammer to repeatedly hit N. in the head, causing N. to die.
At the same time, HPQ (14 years old, N.'s older brother - mentally retarded) was sleeping on the floor. When he discovered this, he stood up and ran away. Ngoat continued to use a hammer to hit Q. in the face, causing him to die on the spot.
After killing the two children, Ngoat took the hammer and threw it in the cassava garden, then fled to Krong Pak district. On October 25, 2013, he was arrested.
On September 22, 2014, the Supreme People's Court upheld the first instance verdict, sentencing defendant Ngoat to death for murder./.
