The perpetrator stabbed five elementary school students to vent his anger over his neighbor.
Suspected of theft, Minh, consumed by resentment, took a knife and murdered his next-door neighbor's son, injuring several others.
The Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Investigation Agency announced that suspect Do Manh Chieu Minh (25 years old, residing in Dong Luong commune, Lang Chanh district) has been transferred to Cau Cao temporary detention center for further investigation into the murder case that occurred at Dong Luong Primary School. Minh has been charged and detained for 4 months.
"The crime scene investigation and collected evidence suggest that Minh was most likely the sole perpetrator," a police investigator stated.

During questioning at the police station, Minh stated that he had been in conflict with Mr. Le Van Thuan (the father of Le Huu Phuoc) for many years. Their houses were next to each other. Recently, Mr. Thuan had been cursing loudly because his family frequently suffered petty thefts. Believing this was directed at him, Minh harbored resentment.
Another source from the investigative agency said that a few years ago, Thuan had teased Minh, smearing him with a red liquid and water, then threatening to infect him with HIV, which traumatized him. Unable to get revenge on Thuan, Minh vented his anger on Thuan's son.
According to local authorities, Minh lived a reclusive life, rarely socializing with his neighbors, and exhibited signs of mental instability. The suspect is currently undergoing a psychiatric evaluation to aid in the handling of the case.

Earlier, at around 8:45 AM on May 3rd, Minh, armed with a knife, broke into Dong Luong Primary School, went to the second floor, and stormed into class 5A, stabbing Le Huu Phuoc. While fleeing, he stabbed four more students and a female teacher.
Although rushed to the hospital, Phuoc died before arriving. Currently, the five injured victims are in stable condition. The most seriously injured is 9-year-old Pham Duc Huynh, who suffered a stab wound to the right lung and underwent surgery to drain the pleural cavity. He has been transferred to a higher-level hospital for treatment and is now out of critical condition.
Minh was arrested while hiding by a pond near the edge of the forest in Tan Phuc commune, more than 4 km from the scene. Initial test results showed the suspect tested negative for drugs.
