The end of the guy in prison still planning to traffic drugs
“White Death” brings pain to many families. Although the law deals with it strictly, because of greed, Nguyen Ngoc Ty continues to reoffend. Notably, this young man also planned to traffic drugs while in prison.
Youth slides into mistakes
Nguyen Ngoc Ty (born in 1996, residing in Cua Nam Ward, Vinh City) was born and raised in a rather special family. Since childhood, Ty lived under the care of his mother and lacked the love of his father. Because he did not go to school, the defendant was illiterate.
With no qualifications or degrees, Ty soon made a living by working as a porter at the market. He said that thanks to that manual work, he could earn a hundred or less a day. Born early, working in a complicated environment and lacking courage, Ty soon fell into a downward spiral.

In 2013, when Nguyen Ngoc Ty was only 17 years old, he was involved in illegal drug trafficking and was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison. After serving a 2-year prison sentence, he reoffended. Therefore, in 2018, Ty was sentenced to 24 months in prison. It is worth mentioning that while serving his sentence at Prison Station No. 6 - Ministry of Public Security, instead of improving himself, Ty planned to buy and sell drugs after being released from prison.
According to the indictment, Nguyen Ngoc Ty met a man named Cu (Laotian, identity unknown) while in prison. The two discussed and agreed that after being released from prison, they would contact each other to buy and sell drugs for profit.
After being released from prison for a while, on April 1, 2023, Ty called Cu to order 3 kg of Ketamine for 550 million VND. To ensure the drug transaction took place, Ty went to the bank to transfer money to his partner.
After that, Nguyen Ngoc Ty invited two friends, Nguyen The Anh (born in 1996) and Nguyen Hong Quan (born in 1995), both residing in Vinh City, to go with him to hold the drugs. After agreeing on a plan, on the evening of April 3, 2023, the three subjects arranged to meet at a gas station and then departed by motorbike to the Cau Treo border gate area (Ha Tinh).
Here, Ty took on the task of getting drugs from the Laotians, while Quan and The Anh stopped by the side of the road. At this time, Quan told The Anh: "When you come across a traffic police checkpoint on the way back, use the left turn signal to be safe, and use the right turn signal to throw away drugs."
After receiving 3 kg of drugs, the subjects returned to Nghe An. On the way, The Anh and Quan took turns transporting drugs. At around 11:30 p.m. the same day, when the three reached Trung Phuc Cuong commune (Nam Dan district), they were discovered by the Nghe An anti-drug task force. The Anh immediately threw the bag of drugs into the rice field to escape but was arrested by the police. Nguyen Ngoc Ty was also arrested, while Nguyen Hong Quan quickly escaped. This subject is currently wanted by the police.
The price to pay
With the above actions, the two defendants Nguyen Ngoc Ty and Nguyen The Anh were prosecuted and brought to trial for the crime of illegal drug trafficking. At the trial, the two defendants showed sincerity and admitted their crimes.
Defendant Ty said he met the Laotian while in prison and later bought drugs from him. Regarding the 550 million VND to buy drugs, Nguyen Ngoc Ty said he had saved up. However, when the court questioned him about the fact that he was in prison continuously, had no stable job, and his family had no assets, where he got that money, the defendant remained silent.
In his third court appearance, defendant Ty presented his difficult circumstances and young child and asked the court to give him a chance to live. The defendant expressed remorse for his crime.

The accomplice in the case, defendant Thế Anh, also admitted to buying drugs with his friend. This defendant stated that because they were friends, when Tý invited him to go get drugs, he agreed. Thế Anh knew that it was a violation of the law because he had been in prison many times before, but because of greed, he agreed.
The panel of judges determined that in this case, defendant Ty was the mastermind, and The Anh was an active participant, so both had equal roles. The actions of the two defendants were dangerous to society, and drugs were the source of other social evils, so they needed to be dealt with severely.
Considering the case comprehensively, the People's Court sentenced the defendants Nguyen Ngoc Ty and Nguyen The Anh to life in prison for the crime of illegal drug trafficking.
After making consecutive mistakes in his youth, Ty still did not stop to correct himself. Instead, he planned to traffic drugs while in prison, showing his contempt for the law. Therefore, a life sentence is the price this defendant must pay for his dissolute lifestyle.
