On December 10, 2025, the first official day of competition at the 33rd SEA Games concluded. The Vietnamese sports delegation won 4 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 14 bronze medals.

The martial arts pair Phung Thi Hong Ngoc and Nguyen Ngoc Bich won the bronze medal in the women's Duo Show event after finishing third overall. This is the first medal for the Vietnamese delegation on the day of competition.

The team of six athletes, including Nguyen Xuan Thanh, Tram Dang Khoa, Tran Ho Duy, Le Tran Kim Uyen, Nguyen Phan Khanh Han, and Nguyen Thi Y Binh, excellently surpassed Thailand, Myanmar, and the Philippines to win the gold medal in the creative team event with a score of 8.060.
