After 8 years of facing many health and medical challenges, actress Kha Ly and her husband Thanh Duy welcomed their first daughter, baby Lita, with overwhelming happiness.
In May 2024, the actor couple Kha Ly and Thanh Duy officially welcomed their first daughter, baby Lita, after a challenging 8-year journey. Their happiness is the result of perseverance, love and tireless medical efforts.
8-year journey of overcoming challenges
Kha Ly and Thanh Duy’s road to parenthood has not been easy. The actress has faced many health problems, including thyroid cancer and two surgeries to remove ovarian cysts. Doctors have advised her to stabilize her health before planning to have children.
For many years, despite not using any contraceptives, the couple still had no good news. They also had to endure the pain of loss when Kha Ly unfortunately miscarried. During that difficult period, Thanh Duy was always by her side, temporarily putting his work aside to encourage and take care of his wife.
Finally, she and her husband turned to in vitro fertilization (IVF) and luck smiled on them. However, the first three months of pregnancy were a big challenge for Kha Ly. She shared: “I had severe morning sickness... I am old and infertile, so the doctor monitored me very closely. I had to inject myself with medicine every day into my stomach to prevent muscle relaxation, blood clotting, and keep the fetus attached to the uterus. These injections left my stomach bruised.”
The joy of a child's birth
After 8 years of waiting, the moment she knew she was pregnant made Kha Ly burst into tears of happiness. She confided: “My husband and I have long been looking forward to having a baby in the house. I know my partner is eager but he doesn’t say anything, always encouraging me that ‘children are a gift from God’, not wanting to put pressure on me.”
The day Lita was born, the couple were overwhelmed with happiness. “The moment we held our baby in our arms, our dream came true. When we heard our baby cry, we were overwhelmed with happiness,” the actress emotionally shared.
Since having a child, their life has been filled with joy. Kha Ly spends all her time taking care of her baby, while Thanh Duy is the breadwinner and helps his wife take care of the child whenever he has free time.
Love story and surprise proposal
Kha Ly and Thanh Duy met at the Phu Nhuan Drama Theater of People's Artist Hong Van. From a colleague relationship, feelings gradually arose between them after working together. After about 3 years of dating, the couple held a wedding in 2016.
Thanh Duy once revealed about the surprise proposal to his wife in Manchester (UK), witnessed by People's Artist Hong Van and the late artist Anh Vu. He humorously recounted that everything happened very spontaneously, even the engagement ring was borrowed from Kha Ly for the photo shoot because he had not had time to prepare.
Presently a fulfilling life
Despite being busy with her role as a mother, Kha Ly still maintains a fresh and radiant appearance. At the age of U40, the actress is praised for her slim figure and youthful demeanor. She said all the sacrifices were worth it when her daughter was born, bringing joy and unity to the family.
Currently, Kha Ly has started to return to her artistic work but chooses suitable projects to be able to balance her time taking care of her family. Regarding the plan to have more children, she said that she and her husband let everything happen naturally.
